Curbside Program

Recyclables are collected from blue 95-gallon rolling recycling carts. Recyclables are collected on your regular trash collection day according to the City's Recycling Collection Calendar. (For example, if your current collection day is Thursday, your recyclables will be collected on designated Thursdays every other week.)

Place blue roll-out recycling carts at least 3 feet away from green trash carts, mailboxes, gas meters, fences, parked cars, overhead obstacles and other items.

According to City ordinance, residential waste shall be placed at the location designated by the City no earlier than 6:00 p.m. of the evening before and no later than 6:30 a.m. of the collection day. Do not block or impede a street or alley right-of-way, water or gas meter, drainage ditch, sight triangle at an intersection or sidewalk. Improperly placed waste will not be collected.

Containers must be removed from your collection site no later than 9:00 a.m. the day following collection. Residents who do not remove containers after collection are violating city ordinances.

Multi-Family Program

Apartment facilities are required by City ordinance to use City-provided trash collection service. The City of carrollton has contracted with Waste Management, 972-315-5400, for this service. This service does not include recycling; therefore, each apartment facility may provide recycling in whatever manor that best accomodates their tenants. If you are a Carrollton resident living in an apartment* complex, contact the apartment management office to inquire about recycling at your complex. Waste Management does offer recycling programs to apartment management for the entire complex based on needs and logistics. If interested, apartment managers may call Waste Management Customer Service at 972-315-5400, to receive an individualized program and quote. *The term "apartment" is based on a City ordinance definition of "dwelling unit" and includes some assisted residences. You may also call "Keep Carrollton Beautiful" @ (972) 996-6993 or via web: http://www.keepcarrolltonbeautiful.org if your interested in getting a program started for multi-family housing.
